Why test the soil?
Plants require many nutrients to be healthy and to grow at their maximum potential. It would seem as though any plant in the ground has all the nutrients available to them. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work this way. Soil pH is a measurement of the acidity or alkalinity of the soil in which the plant grows. Ph is measured on a scale of 0 to 14, with a 6.0 to 6.5 being in the optimum range. A soil test must be performed to determine the pH reading of the soil.
